What an awesome morning for the annual Sophakama Primary Grade 2 visit to Elkanah House! The weather was awesome and the children enjoyed time playing outside and getting to know one another.
Singing, dancing, playing and reading made up their morning together. Each group sang three songs and the Sophakama visitors taught the Elkanah learners the popular iVosho dance. They read enthusiastically to each other, the Elkanah learners reading in isiXhosa and the Sophakama learners reading in English.
After treats, the Sophakama learners were presented with a book each from their hosts to take home with them.
The teachers say that already the learners are talking about their new friends and missing them. Hopefully their letters (as part of the PenPal Project) will be exchanged soon!
Thanks to Elkanah House (Blouberg) for continuing with this wonderful initiative!
