The BrainBoosters programme has begun in earnest at Sophakama Primary School on Monday, 8 May with the two Grade 1 pilot classes.
Ms Nomthandazo Lumka will be responsible for the Literacy component and Ms Xolisa Magobiane will manage the Numeracy component.
The team will be headed by the Deputy Principal, Mary Nell. Eddie Phillips, previously from BrainBoosters, provided support to both teachers on the day.
Teachers will have 40 minutes per day to spend on each one of these components and both will be implemented over a 12 week period.
Learners were very excited about this interactive tool and participated very well on the day. Both teachers are very positive about using this CAPS-aligned resource in their classrooms. We can’t wait to start tracking this programme and seeing how these Grade 1 learners benefit from it.
