Learners click their way towards English Literacy

Click, Click, Click!

That’s the sound of learners in Sophakama Primary School’s computer lab mornings and afternoons. This is when our loyal partner, the Click Foundation, offers its online English Literacy Programme to young learners. They are given the opportunity to work at their own pace through fun and enjoyable language activities, using technology. This addresses the literacy crisis and equips young people with the technological skills required for future success.

Since 2017, the 100 Year Beyond Programme learners (Grades 1-4) have benefited from the after-school programme.  Now Click also offers their programme during the mornings, targeting Grade 1–3 learners. And at the beginning of this year, Grade 4 learners were included during the mornings as well.

The growth of this programme at Sophakama aligns with Click’s goal to provide online English Literacy Programmes in under-privileged primary schools across South Africa.

We look forward to working with Click towards improving English Literacy at Sophakama.
