Urban farming at RWHQ in Cape Town has introduced a life force that is infectious.

ROGZ has never been average. Mixing work and play since 1995, we are never satisfied with normal.

Since February 2013, our ROGZ Farm has sprouted into existence and we now have Roggers helping on the ROGZ Farm team. Our farmers work every day turning the soil in and outside the factory property, and are now also working on other businesses spreading the mojo.

Most plants have been replaced with vegetables seedlings, fruit trees and herbs. Each bed is planted on a seasonal rotational basis and the produce is harvested on our property. The farm produce is used to make salads at lunches in summer, and in winter, huge pots of our own vegetables are cooked and mugs of steaming fresh homegrown vegetable soup are handed out to 200 Roggers at lunchtime.

The farm is 100% organic. We have started our own compost system and special ROGZ Compost Tubs were made available to all Roggers at the office, and to take home. The idea is for everyone to place all compost appropriate produce in their tubs, then bring them to empty on our compost heaps.

This year saw the introduction of our ROGZ Farm Market. Still in its infancy stages, we sell our produce at less than retail prices to our Roggers. The money is then spent on buying more seedlings and seeds to replant in our urban garden.

Most fruit trees that we plant are dedicated to our Roggers who have passed on and are remembered and live on in the life force of the trees.
