With the launch of the Social Innovation Challenge in June, Yeboneers from schools in the Dunoon cluster had many challenges. This related mostly to teamwork, working via a digital platform and personal challenges. Through all of this the teams always tried their best.
We were very excited that Silverleaf Primary was chosen as runner-up for the Define task. They had to use information from interviews conducted in the previous task, to compile a problem statement and to come up with Questions to assist with the nest task – Ideate. The task also included a team reflection. All of this required analytical thinking, problem solving skills as well as understanding the user’s needs. They were each given R100 for their effort.
Sophakama Primary was selected as one of the most improved teams on the next task – Ideate – and each of them received a power bank and charger. Excellent achievements from both schools!
